Mohandas Pai, the Human Resource head of Infosys, is in a jubilant mood. He just got a 100 per cent salary hike and is now at an enviously comfortable position, drawing Rs 1.8 crore annually.

Srinath Batni, responsible for delivery excellence at Infy, just got an excellent delivery of Rs 1.27 crore - a 71 per cent increase in compensation since last year.

While the pay of the top three non-promoter executives at Infosys technologies increased by 49 per cent, the comparable figures for the top five executives at Tata Consultancy Services was merely 19 per cent.

This year, the highest paid executive at TCS, S Ramadorai, saw a marginal hike of three per cent giving him a salary of Rs 2.65 crore a year.

The company’s Chief Operating Officer N Chandrasekharan's compensation grew 31 per cent to Rs 1.3 crore. Chief Financial Officer S Mahalingam had the same hike as Chandrasekharan's.

Head of global corporate affairs P A . Vandrevala grew by 17 per cent to Rs 1.04 crore.

Wipro has yet to come out with its annual report for Indian shareholders. It had filed executive salaries in dollar terms in its filing with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission.

The top five at Wipro had a relatively smaller hike at 18 per cent. Chief Financial Officer Suresh Senapaty saw his salary rise by 20 per cent. Chief Operating Officer A I Rao got a one per cent hike to $236,619. Co-CEO Girish Paranjpe's package grew by 19 per cent and co-CEO Suresh Vaswani's pay jumped by 32 per cent.

Interestingly, these salary hikes are in tandem with the companies’ net profits. Infosys recorded a profit of 35.88 per cent and gave a generous raise of 49 per cent. Wipro had a 19.05 per cent profit and delivered a similar salary hike of 18 per cent.

TCS played spoilsport by giving a salary hike of 19 per cent when they recorded profits of 31.57 per cent.
