Here are some of the tips for you to interact effectively with customer or even with client. Whenever you are on call try to follow with these small tips.

Tips for effective customer interaction
1) Listen! - very important

2) Talk slowly and clearly

3) Be clear what exactly you want from your customer. go with an agenda for each meeting. Email the agenda before the meeting.

4) Ask direct questions. Don't beat around the bush (helps to know in your mind, what you want from them)

5) Write everything down - no information is useless

6) Establish good rapport with your client. Important to get your immediate client counter part's trust. Get their buy in on anything. Make them your partner.

7) Helps to take them out for lunch. Maybe Indian restaurant.

8) Smile more - helps to release tension

9) Never bitch about anyone with your client

10) Treat customer with respect. but don’t take crap.

11) Don't feel shy to ask questions. it is no reflection on your knowledge and experience

12) Very critical to be very positive. One got to believe things will get solved or solution will be found out.

13) Don't argue. ask clarifications politely & nicely.

14) Please don't say something just to please your client

15) Remember you are there to help them, that doesn't mean you are their slaves.
