Halliburton lay offs their employees.

We have a confirmed news that Oil and Gas major Halliburton has taken a decision to lay off it's employees working in United States and India in Global IT Service Center. These employees were giving internal support to Halliburton employees for their technical queries including password reset to installation and maintenance of major software programs like HIPPS.

All these jobs will now be outsourced to Accenture in their Bangaluru (Bangalore) facility. People who were working in India have an option to clear all recruitment tests and work with Accenture for Halliburton process however fate of employees working in United Stated is not yet clear and looks bad in current economic situations.

About Halliburton:
Founded in 1919, Halliburton is one of the world’s largest providers of products and services to the energy industry. With more than 60,000 employees in approximately 80 countries, the company serves the upstream oil and gas industry throughout the lifecycle of the reservoir – from locating hydrocarbons and managing geological data, to drilling and formation evaluation, well construction and completion, and optimizing production through the life of the field.

About Accenture:
Accenture is a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company, with more than 223,000 people serving clients in more than 120 countries.

very good if they outsource this to other company who can manage it well, to call 4357 is a hell experience. pune IT support is very lack of experience, i have to depend to IT support for small issues that actually can be solve by helpdesk.

How the hell you say? You don't know what conditions we work in. We have worked on all Indian Public Holidays and what we get is this. There are people who are having loans to take care of. How easy for you to that. We worked hard as a team. I am sure they are going to repent doing this. People who have no experience with Halluiburton environment try to teach us how to go about it. We all have a strong heart and will and we all will win as a team and it will be the biggest embarassment for the company. Atlast F*** ***

First of all F*** *** You have no right say that. You have no idea what conditions we worked in. Still we all manage to smile and laugh about it. We have even worked on our public holidays. We have always worked as a team. There are people who have liabilities on them and all of this came as shock. We are a strong as a team and we will be successful in our lives. No one can can stop that. I hope it doesnt turn out to be a disastorous experience for you in future and I am sure you will regret what you have said.

Internal Management people took money and moved the process to accenture without letting their employess know.
I heard that these assholes called employees for a meeting and instead gave them a Termination letter that too stating a wrong clause.

Its sad to get this news. I have had awesome experience with the IT Team. They are friendly and very helpful and very polite. I didn't expect Halliburton to outsource the Service Center. Its very heart breaking.

The IT manager did not have the guts to talk to the employees on their face....
Like a coward he ran away & talked over the phone...
I guess he was afraid of getting beaten up...

Guys, I know there is a lot of hoopala surronding what hapened and why/ how it happened. Even though we had a good run here and made the most of the working conditions, life hasnt freaking ended. There will be new ventures and new experiences for all of us. As for new people at Accenture and the Halliburton users, i know you are stuck in a perticularly sticky / oily situation but I am sure our soon to be 'ex' global head will help you get through the fumes.

Peace .V,,

P.S.
I sincerely hope the person who posted the first comment filled out a customer survey.

If you think that the existing set up was hell, then your gonna have a real shock when the outsource company takes over with no knowledge of how apps work in the Halliburton environment, this will fall back on local I.T support who are also fighting ousourcing. Here's a thought why don't they lay off the senior I.T managers and CEO who do not understand tghe real value of "in-house I.T staff" its all been done before.

Whew!!! There are some big s**t h#!d who seem's to be pretty excited on what's happening with GSC. It's very unfortunate on what happening.
Mr. Anonymous (August 10, 2011 1:13 AM) & (August 11, 2011 5:42 AM), Grow up, the blog is not for immature people like you.(leave your frustration with your wife/ girlfriend etc..etc, at home please)
..................
The layoff is not only for GSC Pune, it include the group in Houston, Tx.
The reason for the layoff is because Halliburton Management could not sanction the budget for a new office for GSC(Pune) & market correction which was promised/pending since a year.

Seem's like we have some S**T H**D who are pretty excited about what happening with GSC.
It's unfortunate for people who are being effected by this unfortunate event.

The layoff is not only for Pune GSC but also Houston / Russia GSC. This are employee's who has sacrifice everything(you named it) to improve the service factor for Halliburton. In return this is how Halliburton is repaying for the good job done.

The reason for reduction in workforce(RIF )in Pune GSC is because Halliburton Management was unable to sanction funds for a new office & also bring Market correction in the current salary structure which has been pending since a year.

Lasttly, Mr. Anonymous (August 10, 2011 1:13 AM) / (August 11, 2011 5:42 AM), Seriously guy's grow up, this blog is not for immature, sarcastic people like you. (Pray this doesn't happen to you guy's)

We are down not 'BEATEN' , we work as a team & will go out as a team.

It is really really sad news that Halliburton GSC operations are getting closed.. My experience with Pune GSC was very good.. my call was never transferred to Houston GSC or i was put on hold for long time to get the fix...i dont think it is a good decision to lay off the GSC operations.....at least before taking this decision they have to take the anonymous advice....at last i just wanna say that it is bad decision taken......

Outsourcing the help desk was tried before, to IBM in the '90s. Guess which IT manager was put in charge of that contratc...that ended up failing badly and resulted in insourcing help desk operations?

Yes. It was the same senior manager put in charge of the GSC AFTER it was created and developed by Edilburto Rodriguez. It was a senior manager who came over from KBR and cleaned house of all of Rodriguez's management team. It was a senior manager who had already demonstrated how to screw up a help desk out sourcing contract, and then seemed intent on proving Rodriguez's good concept could also be screwed up in less than three years of bad management and force Halliburton BACK into ANOTHER outsourcing contract.

This senior manager got rid of very good, highly experienced managers in the UK, the US, the Middle East, and India. This senior manager was only worried about brown-nosing VPs and the CIO, was only concerned with "looking good" not about the success of the company, and only wanted subordinant managers who would be just as much of a brown-noser.

It's a tragedy that so much can be sabotajed by one selfish, incompetant person.
